the NYT revived some old fake news about Bush41 and a supermarket scanner

New York Times Revives Debunked Bush Scanner Piece For H.W.’s Obit
After showing the president several of the scanner’s features, Graham exhibited the company’s newest concept. He had Bush scan a card with a torn up universal product code. The scanner could still accurately read the item and ring it up.
“Isn’t that something,” said Bush, who later told grocers he was “amazed by some of the technology.”
Rosenthal went on to write The New York Times’ front page piece, “Bush Encounters The Supermarket, Amazed.”
Bush was amazed that the scanner could read a torn-up UPC code. Which the NYT reported as Bush was amazed by a supermrket scanner, period

I love your prominent use of CNN in the post, as if Relotius had anything to do with them, beyond winning a prize that had been funded by them a few years ago, while he was writing for a Swiss magazine. Fake news, indeed!

I cut and pasted the title of the article.
The article's point would be that CNN is giving awards for fake news

In this case, CNN funded a set of prizes that were awarded by an independent jury. Never let facts get in the way of a good story!

lol, CNN established and funded the prizes and selected the jury, and screens submissions before passing them on to the jury.

msnbc MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell: "They destroy water bottles that are left in the desert by Samaritans that are doing what Donald Trump’s bible tells them to do."

That video of US Border Patrol agents kicking over water jugs was posted on youtube in 2013 (and marked 2011) you can see the date at the bottom right on youtube
Kicking over water jugs must have been an Obama policy

echoes of when the media showed kids in cages from 2014

This is neither fake nor surprising. The Trump organization has decades of well documented history of shenanigans. Compared to a lot of it, employing undocumented workers from south of the “Border” would be pretty trivial, if it weren’t for the extreme degree of hypocrisy involved.

If I had posted under "Summer Holiday, Sequel" ppauper would have called it fake news.
Besides, "Search" doesn't work so  my usual high-quality posts have been compromised.

the story seems to be changing, so as you say, fake news
According to the NYT article linked by your story, the lady claimed to have fraudulently obtained employment at the Trump organization by presenting fake documents
The Times also examined the documents Ms. Morales presented as proof that she was entitled to work — a permanent resident card, or green card, and a Social Security card, both of which she said she purchased from someone in New Jersey who produced counterfeit documents for immigrants.
If that's the case, shr should be deported immediately

Along with her employer, who obviously knew what was going on. Deport him back to the Land of Capital Letters!

Or, wait, are you saying he doesn’t have the faintest idea of what is going on in the golf club that carries his name and where he spends most of his time? That would fit with the quality of management that he has displayed in the White House... Malice or incompetence, take your pick! Although, strictly speaking, they are not mutually exclusive.

I'm saying the system is woefully inadequate because it allows illegals with forged documents to dupe employers.
We were promised improvements as part of the Reagan amnesty deal, but of course Congress never delivered.
