his father speaks mostly rubbish to him.
I know the feeling; at a certain stage kids just stop listening to fathers; can't say I blame them.
I haven't spoken Italian for a couple years, but I would say it's language #3 in terms of fluency.
Will Julian learn Latin at school? It will help to speak grammatically correct Italian.

Quale lingua parli con la nonna?

I don't know if it's true or how it could have been tested, but I've heard from several couples bringing up bilingual children that it's good if each parent consistently speaks to them in only one of the languages.
I grew up in a multilingual family and it had its negative impact. I don't verbalise my thoughts and it's often very hard for me to express myself spontaneously - I sound more affected than I really am because of that. Another problem is naming things in the language in which I met or experienced them - when I have to translate them to other languages, it ends up with elaborate descriptions of simple things, because I want to express every subtle difference. And finally, I use words which don't exist - ca. 25% of the vocabulary is common (Greek and Latin) to the languages I know, but I'm very creative and make it 50%! It's obviously good that Julian is bilingual, but it's not all positives.

That's odd because I thought you were one of the few people here with a sophisticated sense of humour. Jeez. First Peter Tork dies, then this.

He seems very tall and mentally developed for his age. Gorgeous boy. Great job, Mrs and Mr Fulmerspot!

A question no one has asked: Julian has taken his first steps here~ 18 months? I remember when Junior took his first steps, it was also an epiphany for him. He was around 18 months.

Hmmm ... I'll need to check with the boss to answer that one.

Meanwhile, he's got some growing to do to fit his new coat (it's age 4 and he's 2 1/2)
