If he was trying to climb down wouldn't you say "watch out, be carefully, go back" instead of "don't jump"?

Inconceivable.Hardly two weeks ago, a pretty similar story unfolded throughout our windows at work. The guy (a 20 something youngster, Mr Everyman) climbed up on the fence of terrace at the second floor of the airport. Policemen and firemen discussed with him a couple of minutes (something along, "don't jump off, everything will be fine"), then the guy started to climb down on the void side (scared to fall off so high (?)), but messed up, entangled phone wires and finally fall down several meters lower on a railing. It looks like he was still alive.
