Wilmott Awards for the best one-liner 2018

December 24th, 2017, 7:52 pm

My favourite

Perhaps everyone has been brainwashed into only minding their P's and Q's?

Traden4Alpha.

I would give somor, gamal. and gatarek honourable mentions, edging ISM into 4th place.

Did you know that PT Barnum was mayor of Bridgeport, CT in 1875. And the last sighting of a shark there was 24 August 1960, so they say.

The literal interpretation of the statements written by a bunch of male slave owners from an agrarian culture more than two centuries ago are about as relevant to the organization of modern society as a literal interpretation of the Bible. For clarity, that would be not very much at all.

P.S. I do wonder if belief in Cauchy sequences is one of the reasons for financial crises. Equilibrium economics is a crock of you know what. Are housing prices in Amsterdam (or Ireland) a Cauchy sequence?????
