Is it possible to mask someone posts in this forum?

December 6th, 2018, 5:00 pm

Is it possible to mask someone posts in this forum? I mean someone I labelled as an extremist (e.g ppauper)

Congratulations! If you can still read my posts, when I have a bad day, I turn up the odds of the nastiest disease in my microsimulations or add an extra factor (e.g. "hit by a bus") and watch how all of them die in a few years. Wicked, isn't it :-D

Edit: yup, I'm an extremist.

I think that posting what almost half of US voters think is as close to being non-extremist as you can get.

Cuch, it can be a great badge of honor to be airbrushed, it just depends on who does it. As an airbrushee myself I am quite proud.

I'm not a meaningful person in your (or any for that matter) circles, but since I have no idea what you're talking about, to me you are the only non-airbrushed one.

My psychological technique of dealing with ppauper is a denial that he's serious about most things he says. Otherwise, I appreciate his professional input and our shared hatred of fat people.

Good man.

At school I joined the church choir but got thrown out because i made a very funny joke once when singing Franz Schubert's Ave Maria (serious song) and the whole choir went into stitches. My mother was playing the organ but no problems from her.

I then applied to be an altar boy thinking that I might rise in the social hierarchy, work your way up the ladder. But no way. Looking back, it was a good idea.

Surely "ppauper the mathematician" is not your foe? We all can learn from his precise answers i.e. more formulae, less waffle.
The trick is to ignore the other shite.

Someone sharing far-right and white supremacist posts, no thanks.

There is the comparison with Germany ca 1932. Extremist? Well, not really, since there is a plurality, if not an outright majority for that Austrian immigrant...

There are many, many words that could be used to describe the posts. They could be more accurate, less yawn inducing. One hears "extremist" used so often, especially at dinners with colleagues while they are eating their avocado toast.

Young, idealistic, and so serious about life and words... I hope you'll take your share of disappointments lightly.
