Watching numbers - some sources expect peak in US in about two weeks.

Aside from that, working steadily here, made a loaf of Cinnamon Walnut Raisin bread (cooling on a rack and will try it soon).

And learning some of my favorite songs on my acoustic guitar.

I always like the opening of this one - I'm Celtic, United too. ; )

You're in My Heart - Rod Stewart

Can't do this one in full yet, but give it time.

Black Mountain Side - Led Zeppelin

Good evening to all.

Well, the line is actually, "You're Celtic United, but baby I've decided you're the best thing I've ever seen." (to her) but I changed it up.

Part of the research today: Chickens!

My sister is likely to get some this spring - we are conferring now and plan to build a coop in her barn, with a ramp that they can use to go in and out.

Safe from bobcats, coyotes, eagles... Chickens go to roost in the late afternoon - you do not have to round them up - they will just pop right into the coop on their own.

Here is a nice list of breeds with pictures and a legend on their characteristics:

Breeds of Chickens - Murdochs

Further bonus - do you know what chickens love to munch on besides their "scratch"?

Locusts!! Well-documented too. Of course, there is the question of scale and we don't want a battalion of chickens, but we'll see what is needed.

Nature has solutions - we just have to try to keep up.

Anyway - Buk buk buckaw to you folks.

When I went to agricultural fairs as a child, I always like these striped ones - Barred Plymouth Rock aka "Barred Rock" - and any chickens with iridescent feathers. +1 : ) Peacocks are cool too - but if you ever heard one scream out - hehe - they are kind of crazy. Lovely plumage. but ... : Q

Little Red Rooster - Rolling Stones

"The dogs begin to bark
The hounds begin to howl
Watch out strange cat people
Little red rooster on the prowl..."  ; )

I can play the slide on this.

Today making some masks for friends and neighbors.

Plenty of fabric to choose from; I even have some fishing and outdoor-themed cloth, so the men won't have to wear pretty floral masks.  :  )

Many years ago, there was an album called Trout Mask Replica (Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band), so here we have - Trout Masks Replicated.

TMR is abrasive crazy music, so I'll spare you that.  Instead, here is The Trout - Franz Schubert.

Looking through my collection of bookmarks and finding some treasures.

Here is Byrne’s Euclid - a digital reproduction of a version of Euclid’s Elements originally published in 1847.

The graphic design is cool.

A song for the spring, Ten Years Gone - Led Zeppelin  Twelve years gone for me, actually, but who's counting?

This week - milder weather and time to till the earth - by hand for now. Good hard work.

If the Grim Covid-19 Reaper does come for me, this is what will play at my funeral.

In My Time of Dying - Led Zep   On "11."  ; )

Stay safe and enjoy your social distancing.

So, how are the masks coming along?

Great!  I am making them with ties rather than elastics, so one size fits all.

The pleated design is also good that way. Very adaptable, whether you have a skinny mouse-like face or a great broad jawline like a T-Rex.

One finished example and some options: Trout Mask, Trout Mask 2, Moose Mask...

and last but not least, Buffalo Solider - Bob Marley

Some of you wouldn't be caught dead in a Buffalo Mask, but to me it makes a lotta sense....

Pattern is here for your wives, girlfriends, SOs. : ) - Face mask - a picture tutorial - Button Counter.com

(For cloth ties, use two long strips 2x28 inches, folding raw sides in 1/2 inch each and then folding the whole strip in half - iron and sew. Done!
