After reading a list of the last-minute Presidential pardons, I feel compelled:

I hereby pardon all of you, in perpetuity.

Even though most you have probably never done anything in your entire life to warrant such a pardon, you are now absolved for all potential future actions as well. Imagine the freedom!

As Paul "Scarlett O'Hara" Wilmott said to us recently, "Tomorrow ...is another day!." : D

And now I really am going on vacation - trying to decide what to do while there!

Thank you - along with the inauguration, which went smoothly, this made my day.

Also a footnote, to avoid confusion:

In English, "to warrant" means "to merit," or even "to require," in a sense. So, If your past actions did not warrant a pardon, it means that your past actions were not bad enough to need one. Not that they were bad and you don't deserve one. Hehe. The devil is always lurking in the details, laughing!

A new book recommendation for the winter reading list:

Fundamentals: Ten Keys to Reality - Frank Wilczek

I read his book, A Beautiful Question a few years ago.

Ten Keys just came out and there are a few reviews online. Not all would agree with his views, but thought provoking and a good project for the deep winter weeks ahead. : )

Good! I did not hibernate, but have settled into a pretty good groove with isolation and now in it for the longer haul.

Watching news about vaccines, of course, but will "wait and see" what results show and how the virus keeps changing...

For now, am stocked up from Whole Foods (my conference buffet dream probably meant hunger - hehe) - and just plan to be disciplined (though not too Spartan!) for the next few months.

Now off to run with dogs along the river - 27 degrees F - not bad!

Haha! Not yet. In that forest-river sanctuary where I often go, many people bring dogs, so I have observed various breeds (and mixed breeds) and spoken with a few dog owners.

I think 2022 will be the year of the dog for me. Maybe even two dogs, so they can have fun playing together when I am busy.

On travel - thank you - that is funny and I do like Europe at any temperature. If the pandemic subsides in the next few years, there will be many more adventures to come - I will go horse trekking across Ireland and rent a little house in Provence for awhile.
