Re: trackstar's Needle Exchange

The Abyss wasn't bad.  There are a load of other terrible underwater movies (Leviathan, etc.) which are ridiculous wastes of time.

Fun fact: I watched Aliens vs. Predators at a movie theater in my college Dorf way back when.

There was a meme floating around about new species finds in Antarctica.  The statement on the meme was "Given what's going on in the world, not now.  We don't need this now." Hahahaha.
He he.  But maybe this is exactly what we need - imagine if these organisms that live (even thrive) in such extreme conditions have a property that would combat viruses of all kinds (with or without dangerous or bizarre side effects).  Then the movie theme has a twist.

The A v. P series is actually pretty short - but looking at both franchises, there are enough movies for a mid-winter marathon.

Alien franchise (6 films)

Predator franchise (4 films, plus one not released yet)

Alien v. Predator (2 films)

Popcorn, a deep comfortable couch, and voila! Time spent/time wasted - still fun.

Fun fact: I have seen some of these movies several times, but I have not seen all of them, so it would be like a franchise seminar in film school.

A  couple of new pictures for my transitory quilt gallery.

Between hiking, skiing, sewing, and "real" work, winter is moving right along!

First day of spring just one month away.

and next up on the Deadhead tie dye theme: simply blue and white.

I just realized how my 'Fun Fact' came across. I want to state that wasn't my aim with that answer.   I do hope our dear trackstar is willing to afford me a pass. :)

Nothing wrong there - just idle chat on a forum. : )

When not on the forum, what happens? A few recent pictures.

Melting snow and mud these days - smells like spring!

Enjoy the rest of your weekends!

Well, vacations are refreshing!
I've also started painting (in oils) again.

Geometric patterns, mostly, but some hazy, cloudy things too.

Maybe will post an example on or around the Equinox.

A public service Announcement:  in both the normal and the Talebean sense of "Announcement".

These new ad thingies are popping up when people post - likely related to their own interpreted profiles.

It's truly flattering how I am perceived by this AI - clothing for older women, weight loss products, and allusions to manic depression. Wanna take a quiz?

I don't need no quiz, but I definitely appreciate the benefits of a healthy diet, plenty of exercise, fresh air, and art of all kinds. : )

So, thanks for the diagnoses, Doc and I'm going to go back to doing what I was doing - i.e., counting and sorting the number of skeins of yarn I have in these boxes.

(Just kidding - an OCD joke.)

I get the exact same ads, even if I sweated out all fat skiing. Regarding age, I recently heard - from a man - that after 45 we stop being women (related to the statistic that most women become practically infertile at 45 these days). But men will always be men. Expect some ads of male clothes then. (I'm still in the fat granny department.)

If they offer me some flannel shirts from LL Bean or men's technical gear from North Face or Patagonia, they will have their first sales!

Perfect attire for stacking the remaining fire wood, working in the barn, and starting the first plantings for the season. Indoors by the windows for now, but transplanting on schedule, weather permitting. : )

If you were to buy a tomato planting machine, which one?

Neither of those seem suitable to me.  This one is perfect though!
E. Hurley - b. June 10, 1965

She can plant tomatoes with me all day long.
We old ladies (old men?) must have something useful to do! : )

On a slightly more serious note: not just tomatoes - I have been following a guide for this region and March, April, May - a busy time of year for gardeners!

Revisiting my cookbook collection and I might have mentioned one or both of these before, but they are good and worth a fresh mention.

For the Vegans among us, kindly be advised that not all recipes therein are vegan/vegetarian. But they are healthy and both authors are strong on free range, humane farming, no GMOs, etc.
