You're welcome. My votes

Eurovision Song Festival (there was a time Ireland won it every year)
Dutch birthday parties (you hope it will be different next time)
Venice (cruise ships)
Newsnight (BBC 2) (same old story)
Excellent!

Speaking of Robert de Niro, do you ever notice that Dustin Hoffman walk the same way in all movies starting with Papillon? de Niro always has a smirk.
Probably because of his height. The best actor walk of all time is James Coburn. They knew how to walk in the 1960s.

...

Rules: Four items; They have to hold promise (i.e. they always sound like a good idea); And be things you keep going back for (i.e. you never learn the lesson).

Got it?!
Ah, did miss that intention,  But I have mulled this over and come up with absolutely nothing!  (You did put the Forum off limits - haha!)

The most intriguing real world example I can think of is Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

But there's nothing like that in my life, at least not yet! : D

Another hint from Paul that you all did not pick up was that Paul say that the Irishman was a bad movie.

How about Sanremo? I admit to watching it every year when I have time :-(
This years winner: Diodato - Fai rumore
and hot Georgina Rodriguez (la mujer de don Ronaldo) dancing Argentinian tango
I wish I could do such splits!

I became disillusioned with San Remo after 1958

Nel blu di pinto di blu.
Those were the days.

Volare oh,

ohCantare oh, oh
