Well, this will make you smile, given your previous post. ; )
CDC Recommends Suspending Gatherings Of 50 Or More People For The Next 8 Weeks - NPR March 15
"In
a guidance announcement issued on Sunday, the agency said it was warning against large events and mass gatherings that include "conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings, and other types of assemblies."
The agency called on organizers, whether they are individuals or organizations, to cancel or postpone such events. However, it said the guidance did not apply to the daily operations of organizations like schools, institutes of higher learning or businesses."
As I posted elsewhere, here in the Northeast, many schools elementary through college) are closing for two weeks.
And this evening, I received word from a number of my local restaurants that they are also following guidance and closing or reducing operations to take out only for two weeks. Museums are closing too.
The restaurants are suggesting gift cards for future use to help keep things flowing and museums and arts organizations mentioning that donations will help a lot right now.
Maybe I am a contrarian, at least by UK standards, but I am on board with this. We'll see if it works. Keep an eye on US stats for the next 2-8 weeks.
