Gallows humour

March 18th, 2020, 11:08 pm

The thread for sick, cough cough, jokes.

(This could get tasteless. But once Wilmott.com members start dying we will probably take this thread down.)

Not so much gallows humor, but still a perspective.

At a time when many rank and file employees are trying to figure out how to work from home efficiently with their laptops and basic login to their corporate networks...

NASA has also announced that *all* employees will be working from home starting this week. (The original announcement said that mission staff would still be working at their respective labs.)

So, the question is, who has this kind of set-up at home?

Also thinking about the astronauts that are off-planet right now.  You can't social distance more than that! But the Outer Colonies are not ready yet, Captain...

Why is the number of critical cases in the UK always 20? Is this how many IC beds the NHS has?

I’d say no, but it’s an acquired taste.

Among other types, I have a dark Cold War humor, but on this forum I keep a leash on that most of the time.

In a different genre, a classic example of humor on the edge is Mel Brooks “The Producers.”

Inadvertently funny headline yesterday:

“Are liquor stores open during coronavirus?

New York says liquor stores are 'essential,' can stay open.”

Hehe - Good call - if you want to see a soft-lock-down rebellion, go ahead and close those stores.

The story:

Liquor stores have been deemed "essential" retail in the state of New York and can stay open as part of the New York State on Pause" plan.

It was a British joke that killed Hitler.

Janet: John, we've been together for a long time
John: yeah
Janet: should we get married?
John: who would have us?

Obviously the corona virus has been carefully designed to impact primarily US Democratic voters (blue). Proof
China and Europe were just collateral damage.

Party       Chance of contracting COVID-19
Democrat    72%
Republican  18%
Unaffiliated 3%
