The first time I heard the word "French Empire" in all my days on this Earth.
Have you heard of a guy named Napoleon Bonaparte?

My remark was in the context of a linguistic speech act. It was a de-facto empire. He did civilise Holland and set up institutions and gave everyone names.
The guy who wanted to unite Europe and kick the Sasanaigh out of Scotland and Ireland.

Good music to listen to if you are playing with your toy soldiers.

Clearly my writing is easy to misread, perhaps my eyesight is going. But this response got me the vaccine early.

I got a centrally located, fairly priced apartment in Dubs out of COVID-19. Can't really complain about that.

I do have an issue with the social and work ramifications though. But that's just my normal complaint about everything. :) haha.

1. The exponential function, previously hiding in the shadows, is taking the world by storm. (The role of compound interest has been taken over by a virus.)

2. We know which people are useless in a crisis.

3. No more eating fresh vegetables! They are everywhere but I’m not touching them.

4. I was going to say something about European villas and chateaux. But it might be too soon.

5. No trips to the dentist. But that will have repercussions later I feel.

6. Learning a new skill. Judging by what has sold out in the stores, everyone is skipping and watercolouring. Not simultaneously I hope.
Any updates
3. is easy, UK stops importing fresh stuff from NL.

I've almost finished weaving the seat of a cane chair. I'm just a pair of braces away from being Amish.

When using the cane this is what I've learned:

1. Find the right hole. Using the wrong hole things will get messy.
2. Things are going to get very tight if you try to squeeze too much into one hole. But often you have no choice.
3. Over or under? See what the neighbours are doing and copy.
4. Wet, wet, wet.
5. If it's too long it will break.
6. When it breaks, as it will from too much tugging, don't panic. Pull out the end and start again.
7. And it will get twisted. (I would expect topologists to be good at this.) This will be minimized if you use your fingers and hands correctly. (There's a knack but it's hard to explain in words.)
8. Sometimes it gets very hard. Don't rush things. You want a happy ending that you can be proud of.

I'll post some pictures.
