I've been reading for a while about Polish company working on a cure for Covid based on convalescent plasma.
I know and heard about people being cured by the convalescent plasma therapy, but I also read about its shortcomings: requires two donors (persons recovered from covid) per patient - i.e. it's expensive, and it's difficult to estimate the efficacy of the treatment because the variability of plasma concentration in the donated blood - the doctors prefer to allocate scarce resources to cheaper and less doubtful options.
The Biomed folk developed a plasma-derived medicine in the form of an injection (doesn't require specialist administration, which generally increases the efficacy, especially in less developed countries), which has precise parameters (easy to test in trials) and serves 1000 patient with just 280 donors (as compared to 2 donors per patient in the case of the standard CT therapy). They are now starting the cure production (should be ready in 1.5 month) and next trials.
It's supposed to be tested as both a therapeutical and preventive medicine.
Perhaps a worthy investment too? (They grew 800%+ over the past 6 months, though.)

I'm biased, because I know this company (and some of their researchers) quite well. They saved the country from simmering epidemics after WW2, then supplied everything I was injected with as a child, including BCG, of which they are the major European producer. The last vaccine might have even protected me from Covid - or made it lighter, if Covid was what I had over a half of the winter. Now it's hard to say because I started heavily smoking...

It's good if you get vitamin D naturally from absorbing sunlight and storing the surplus in the day tissue for the winter. Pill popping only disturbs natural enzymatic paths and hormonal balance. Read about symptoms of hypercalcemia to know if you don't overdose D3. Eg bladder stones.

i collect stones!   risk to die from covid-19 due to fear of stones, or simply take a blood test, see D vit serum levels are where they should be. If been in sun (with face mask) and levels very low, then they are too low!
 in Svalbard with 24 hour darkness for months it could be a bit hard to get enough from the Sun in the dark months...

also people are much more inside than they used to be (n good old times) already before covid, now many hide inside for months...not good!

I have enough D3 reserves after the summer so far.

More and more vegans supplement B12 though - peticides kill our gut bacteria which used to produce it. The symptoms of the deficiency are the most unusual and you don't realise them until you top up. I walked years with the problem and blamed it on laziness. Now I can actually enjoy being lazy!

You can put in the sun other part of the body, on which wearing the mask isn't obligatory. Basic mathematics suggests that the most efficient at absorbing the raylights from the atmosphere would be one (or two) with a perfectly differentiable surface.

Serious topic and good work in pushing the discussion forward.

A search on SSRN revealed a nice study of the literature - the original paper was originally written in May, posted in August, and updated in October. Perhaps helpful sources here.

Abstract:

A Basic Review of the Preliminary Evidence that COVID-19 Risk and Severity Is Increased in Vitamin D Deficiency

and concludes:

"The literature review also found that prophylactically correcting possible vitamin D deficiency during the COVID-19 pandemic is extremely safe. Widely recommending 2000IU of vitamin D daily for all populations with limited ability to manufacture vitamin D from the sun has virtually no potential for harm and is reasonably likely to save many lives."
