Just for reference, Israel and the Apartheid regime of South Africa were both founded in 1948 as the United Kingdom -- bled white by World War II, which was on top of World War I and the Boer War, and probably a dozen or so minor wars that I don't really even know about -- decided that empire wasn't really in its interest, and withdrew many of its garrisons from around the world.
And the horrible, evil Apartheid regime of South Africa was opposed -- often with terrorism -- by groups representing the Black African majority of the country, and between 1948 and the fall of the regime in 1994, an estimated 21,000 people in total were killed in the conflict.
Meanwhile, Israel -- which avoided the Apartheid regime's problem of representing only a small minority of the population by ethnically cleansing their territory of most of it Arabs -- and the Palestinians, with a combined population of about one sixth of South Africa's, have seen probably 30,000 violent deaths in their conflict since 1948.
A decade or so ago I would not have said it, but given Israel's sabotage over the last 20 years of any sort of two state resolution to the conflict and its illegal colonization of the West Bank, I am now strongly of the opinion that Israel is worse than Apartheid South Africa in most regards.
I expect that most of the world -- and probably more importantly, most of the English-speaking world -- will come to share my opinion on that in the next few decades.
