Varsovie se transforme en paradis pour les véganes

"Varsaw turned into a vegans paradise".

They argue Varsaw is the third best city in the world for vegans.

maybe "claim"
behind LA and Berlin they say
It seems surprising to me, but I've got no evidence either way

Maybe meat in the cities which rank best is expensive relative to non meat food. Hence, that ranking.

they seem to be using "vegan restaurants" as the metric. I'm vegetarian not vegan, but I don't necessarily want vegetarian restaurants, I want some vegetarian choices on the menu at regular restaurants

According to what the bartender then said, was hamburger() overloaded?

It's true. Warsaw has lots of great vegan restaurants.

The only time I desire vegan options in regular restaurants is when I am forced to attend a team lunch and have to order something.
If I am dining with Ms ISM, we don't go to places which stink with burned rotten flesh.

Exaggerated. There're three at most four good vegan restaurants in Warsaw. You may find some excellent Polish, French, Georgian and Nepali reastaurants in Warsaw, the vegan cuisine is reduced to vegan burgers.
Not really. You've got at least two vegan burger brands. Apart from that, I've been to at least five full-vegan restaurants last year (I don't enter the spots with just vegan options, because the smell of milk makes me feel sick and I'm not going to support the horrific animal cruelty and pollution generator the dairy industry is with what I eat). You also have full-vegan confectioneries and ice-cream shops.
I'm just back from Łódź and it also has a quite lot of vegan shops to choose from (+ a pub with 104 taps).

That's a laudable but short-sighted strategy that will prolong the cruelty and pollution it purports to prevent. To the extent that vegans boycott restaurants that are not 100% vegan, such restaurants will avoid offering vegan options that expose non-vegans to the diet. Rather than marginalize meat & diary consumption, the boycott strategy helps marginalize veganism.

That's some scenario, but in fact the opposite happens. More and more mixed restaurants go clean. Besides, non-vegans are inferior vegans, so I'd preferably not let them in vegan restaurants, let alone care what they "feel".
