Isn't the subject of the 2nd statement "this achievement" and "Nasa's commercial and international partners" ? I mean I'm intrigued by the 3rd sing. conjugation of the verb "continue".

I'm more intrigued that they think NASA's need for international partners shows American ingenuity.

I read it as saying that SpaceX worked with NASA's commercial and international partners to achieve the successful launch

The stuff between the commas is meant to be an afterthought, as in sotto voce. Sign of a rambling mind. James Joyce was a master of the technique.

At last you admit Joyce was rubbish. He has brought misery to millions of posh people, especially to those weak ones who succumb to peer pressure.

I think it is a poor attempt by the POTUS to support NASA at the same time as supporting Musk. Isn't the American Ingenuity the launch of Space X, and for NASA to partner with international firms (e.g ISS).

The sentence needs minor tweaking. But no one, outside this thread, has cared about such things for years. You see major companies making mistakes in print ads on the London Underground. The BBC gave up being grammatically correct a decade ago, around the same time they gave up being politically unbiased.

I'm not exactly saying that but I agree that posh people have given his work a bad name. I find it so irritating when I visit Sylvia Beach's bookstore (Latin quarter, what) that all those American tourists are yapping away about streams of consciousness etc. etc. And Hemingway, Scott F. and the proto-nazi Ezra Pound.

What about surtitles at the opera?

Evelyn Waugh had a terrible chip on his shoulder when it came to Joyce

Apoor dotty Irishman called James Joyce, who was thought to be a great influence in my youth… wrote absolute rot.”

EW's stuff is OK for O levels.

Words can make you pay and pay
Four-letter words I cannot say
Panty, toilet, dirty devil
Words are trouble, words are subtle
Words of anger, words of hate
Words over here, words out there
In the air and everywhere
Words of wisdom, words of strife
Words that write the book I like
Words won't find no right solution
To the planet earth's pollution
Say the right word, make a million
Words are like a certain person
Who can't say what they mean
Don't mean what they say
With a rap rap here and a rap rap there
Here a rap, there a rap
Everywhere a rap rap
