Smoke Free Random Walkers

Recently we tried out a pub next to the Stock Exchange that has banned smoking. Was remarkably nice, does quite decent bar food, and much the same range of beer as the Counting House. So do we stay at the Counting House, or a new place next month ?

Amsterdam is not (yet) smoke-free. One thing I noticed about CH: it's very noisy and it is sometimes very difficult to hear what Dominic is saying. Service in CH is good. What about a nice bar in the West End?

The very point is to have the drinks in City since this is the place where most of the members work (except for some HF guys who usually hang around west end). When we have access to a room at CH it is perfect, otherwise it is quite hard to find us for newcomers. What is the new pub called?

QuoteOriginally posted by: DCFCSo do we stay at the Counting House, or a new place next month ?this seem to be excluding from the choices the place that you'd tried out that was "remarkably nice".If it was nice and smoke free, why not make that you're new home.If the smokers need a nicotine fix, let them go outside once in a while, or explore alternatives

"Counting House" is very much appropriate for your group since you're "Quants" anyway. You guys like to count, right?

Cuchulainn : One thing I noticed about CH: it's very noisy and it is sometimes very difficult to hear what Dominic is saying. Good point, we must have someone produce a transcript, nothing must be lost.Pub is right next to the old Stock Exchange tower, so is just as central...
