Of course, the reason "global warming" became "climate change" is that the global warmists want to own every weather event that makes the nightly news. Brainteaser: without googling, guess any argument that has already been promulgated for this polar vortex weather event to be caused (or exaggerated by) global warming.
I wonder if one can major in "climate change apologetics"
shifting of the gulf stream springs to mind.
It is just a shift of where is cold, is it not? i.e. Chicago is the temp of the seasonal normal arctic temp and vice versa?
Sure, why not? Actually, the rationale
that caught my attention was "meandering":
Because of rapid Arctic warming, the north/south temperature difference has diminished. This reduces pressure differences between the Arctic and mid-latitudes, weakening jet stream winds. And just as slow-moving rivers typically take a winding route, a slower-flowing jet stream tends to meander.
So, where was the meandering last year, touted as one of the warmest winters in the U.S? Anyway, my point was that whatever the weather event, you can cook up apologetics linking it to an arbitrary climate scenario/prediction. Suppose global warming prevents a new mini ice age due to the Maunder Minimum
. That's a good thing! But, how will we know?
