Nothing says Merry Christmas like Breitbart hyping the message of a dictator wannabe, one step ahead of Trump.

As an anthropological aside:

You (bearish) are always noble and indignant when you take on these issues. It’s admirable. But there is a sense that “ppauper” might be a collaborative effort.  He has even said so “himself” several times. So acting individually, we may be outnumbered.  :D

Is this kind of game more fun than computational fluid dynamics? Maybe.

Let Breitbart, the Hoover Institution, Mother Jones, and The Nation keep the home fires burning!

Last one for now - look at all these political parties not represented in the National Assembly in Hungary (or the European Parliament) (Wikipedia).

My favorite is the Hungarian Two-tailed Dog Party, but there are other good ones.

there's a famous apocryphal quote, variously attributed to FDR, several secretaries of state including Dulles and Hull, and many others, that so-and-so may be an s.o.b. but he's our s.o.b.
wiki tells me that the US currently supports at least 30 authoritarian regimes, most of which are muslim, and none of which is Hungary.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan, September 2009, one of the most repressive regimes in the world, supported with millions of dollars in military aid.
the guy from turkmenistan is an actual (and very nasty) dictator, yet there was no outrage when obama had him over for dinner. He may be an s.o.b. but he's our s.o.b.

As you may know, Turkmenistan agreed to be part of the Central Asia Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone.

CANWFZ - NTI

http://www.nti.org/learn/treaties-and-r ... one-canwz/

So on that basis, there should be state dinners and official communications with the CANWFZ parties from time to time to make sure we are all on the same wavelength.

(And one that does not involve an active nuclear electromagnetic pulse.)

Polish populists didn't start cutting taxes for the rich after getting to power, like Trump did. Polish government increased wealth redistribution and cracked down on tax evasion - something Trump will never do.
Don't try to dump Trump on the Poles, he's the your own special thing :)

Have you ever noticed this phrase on Twitter: "Retweeting does not imply endorsement." ?

I chose articles from Mother Jones and The Nation as good counterpoints to Breitbart and some of ppauper's other news "sources."

Not because I blindly follow to the left (or to the right).

So now you can say Moo.  :)

Technically, I think that should be "news" sources, but that is splitting hairs. I happily consume a news diet of the FT, NYT, Economist, Bloomberg. and various internet sources, some of which in Norwegian. We had a household subscription to the WSJ from the mid 80's until around 2007, but once it turned into a pure political play it became irrelevant at best, and mostly annoying. I used to like their weekend wine critics, though; Dorothy Gaiter and John Brecher, and in particular their OTBN concept. As for our hyper-active poster, he (they) did become rather indignant a while ago when I suggested his (their) posts were really the product of a Russian troll farm. But then again, I guess that would be part of the program...
