I've been getting stroppy with a company for whom I recently did some work. I sent them bank details for payment obviously, but that is not enough. They won't pay. They want some letter from my bank. To prove I exist? They saw me in person. To prove I'm respectable? I'm probably more respectable than they are. They are French so their whole purpose in life is to do paperwork instead of working. In other cases, when the payment happens before the work then I always call a company's bluff, "I don't think you need that paperwork so I'm not sending it. If you don't pay on time anyway then I'm not doing the work." It's never failed so far, proving that this paperwork is just an exercise to find employment for otherwise pointless people.

Each country has its own personality. And the British are stubborn and private.

I say "has" but of course I mean "had."

Oh, wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,
That has such people in ’t!

maximum wager cut on slots
we're talking pokies, aka one-armed bandits, aka fruit machines (the british ones, not the canadian ones)
and the max has been cut from 100 GBP to 2 GBP, which is a heck of a drop.
How do you bet 200 GBP on the slots anyway, does it take credit cards?
I can't imagine sitting there and putting 200 pounds worth of quarters in for each hand

It was a beautiful royal wedding, with a gorgeous bride yesterday. Quite an event considering this was not an official state occasion and they were holding back on the glam!

There were some annoying bits: The BBC did their best to look for evidence of a monarchy in decline, and failed; The American preacher seemed to have forgotten who the event was about; And absolutely everyone was obsessed with MM's heritage. No, Harry didn't choose her to bring the monarchy into the 21st century. He chose her because he loved her and like for most people in the UK race doesn't feature much in such considerations. I didn't marry my mixed-race wife to bring wilmott.com into the 21st century. If I had done then it has clearly failed.

We had the flag out, and a barbecue for the family.

Next royal event will be Zara's baby. And then hoping for another royal baby within a year!

I’m going to build on my previous success and say that the baby will definitely not be called Latifah.
