motor-voter, which has been with us since when, the 90s? and I remember people making exactly that point at the time

a southwest flight from LaGuardia to Dallas (flight 1380, Boeing 737-700) had to make an emergency landing in philly after an engine exploded and the debris shattered a window.
A passenger was partially sucked out the window, and pulled back in by other passengers
One passenger died (reportedly of a heart attack), with the report uncertain as to whether it was the same passenger

Inspections find more flaws in fan blades linked to fatal Southwest Airlines accident
The engines are made by a joint venture of General Electric and France's Safran, which didn't immediately return messages for comment overnight.
Van de Ven said yesterday that GE is considering recommending airlines inspect and lubricate fan blades every 1,600 to 1,800 flights instead of every 3,000 flights.
