Wouldn't it be the first derivative? The wave equation is of the second order in time.
Pawnta rey :-)
Good point. I’m certainly wrong. But the wave equation is second order in space, too, and there is not even a smudge over the x.

I think that dot is a little 2. Looks like the heat equation to me, partially obscured by a pawn and a king.
No, it's two partial derivatives, whose dependent variables are camoflagued by two pawns.
An engineer, a physicist, and a mathematician were on a train heading north, and had just crossed the border into Scotland.
  • The engineer looked out of the window and said "Look! Scottish sheep are black!"
  • The physicist said, "No, no. Some Scottish sheep are black."
  • The mathematician looked irritated. "There is at least one field, containing at least one sheep, of which at least one side is black."

variants:
  • The statistician : "It's not significant. We only know there's one black sheep"
  • The computer scientist : "Oh, no! A special case!"

10th draw, longest draw in a row for any world championship. An immortal long draw!

Time to plan for more speedy chess, where Carlsen should have a bigger advantage
Screen Shot 2018-11-26 at 1.39.55 PM.png

The players will go to a series of tie-breaker games on Wednesday to determine the champion.

So Carlsen played strategically smart in the first 12 slow games, very conservative, he knew he would just gain a big advantage in tie-breakers:

Carlsen is ranked No. 1 in the world at rapid time controls and Caruana is No. 10.

3 - 0 to the Viking, the New Yorker seemed without a chance, good to celebrate with a Fischer-Spassky (vegan)

and the winner do not takes it all, prize is shared 60%/40% from what I understood. Dose it make sense?
