' Definitely brought a smile to my face': Meet the couple, 14 and 15, reunited with newborn after five days apart
Fifteen-year-old mother, Jenifer, and 14-year-old father, Jayden, from Western Sydney caused a wide scale search after they ran away from Nepean Hospital with their three-day-old baby girl last week.
Sixteen hours later they were found and the baby girl was returned to the hospital. She was later discharged, but a hospital spokesperson would not give more details to which authority the baby was released to, Australian media are reporting.
Last night the young couple were finally reunited with their baby for a short time, after apparently not knowing where she was for the past five days.
This is Australia.
I don't think children should be having children, but this reminds me of Cambodia under Pol Pot.
What a brave new world we live in.
Perhaps the default should be helping people to raise their own children rather than taking their children away to be raised as the state sees fit. Yes the parents are kids themselves, but they presumably have parents of their own, and maybe even grandparents, who can help.
From Rummel, Death By Government,
Normal family life, including love and sorrow, was impossible in some villages. Children were taken away from their parents to live and work in labor brigades. If they died of fatigue or disease, which many did, their parents would eventually be informed. At this point what emotion the parents showed could mean life or death. If they wept or displayed extreme unhappiness, this showed bourgeois sentimentality. After all, their children had sacrificed themselves for the
revolution and the parents should be proud, not unhappy.
