I mean, personally to you, leptoq, is the entire Israel enterprise worth it? Do you get something out of it that makes it worth having the animosity of so much of the rest of the world directed at you?
The big difference between the horrible regime in Syria and Israel, from where I sit, is that my country does not participate in the things the Syrian regime does. Israel, on the other hand, we give $4 billion+ a year with almost no restrictions.
I hope you can agree that people, and states, are more responsible for -- and should be more critical of -- the things that they actively support as opposed to things that they are not directly involved in.
If there was a serious possibility that my government was going to start bankrolling the Syrian regime without some overriding (and reasonable) plan to get them to stop being so evil, I'd almost certainly abandon criticism of Israel to oppose THAT foolishness.
But there is no such possibility.
