Samplers are often not-fish-not-meat.But I have some examples, which IMO are great. For Jazzers:"Wildflowers" 1 to 5 Vinyls (2 CDs), NY Loft JazzFor Alternate-Cake likers:"Recommended Records, Quarterly 1", 2 Vinyls (1 CD) this includes "Duck & Cover" a piece which brought together Chris Cutler, Tom Cora, Fred Frith, Heiner Goebbels, Alfred Harth, Dagmar Krause, George Lewis Live to the "Berliner Ensemble" and some pieces of of "Cassiber" (Goebbels, Harth) together with the Italian "Stormy Six". To my knowledge this mergers happened only once?and"Island of Sanity", Double Album (1 CD), with NY industrial and electronic music pieces and people usually published on "Knitting Factory"Also fusions are often not too excitinghowever"Neftakhir", Bill Laswell and "Maghrebica" (Maroccan)"Talking Timbuktu", Ali Farka Toure and Ry CooderI know, niches and great?
