Oh, I have some comments on this. You have actually hit on something here whether you intended to or not.Florida people are a breed of their own. Florida people somehow manage to live pretty well WITHOUT doing a lot of the stuff the rest of us do. I mean, they don't take life very seriously. There career choices are downright strange (soda seller at Disney world for 30 years, casino dealer). But, somehow they live pretty well.But, it is very different from the way we Texans live, and certainly different from the way New Englanders live (where if you are not a professor, doctor, or at least dentist, the you are a failure).But, Florida is a wonderful place, where you can indeed make a living--and for life--working in a surf shop. While other guys your age are working in a factory or coal mine somewhere. In Florida, no one is expected to take life seriously or do something great. (And they will think you are strange if you do.)
