Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homerun, and Justin Verlander pitched 8 dominant innings as the Tigers beat Oakland 3-0 in the fifth, and deciding game of the ALDS. Detroit will now play the Red Sox in the ALCS.

The Cardinals will try to extend their series lead over the Dodgers as Game 2 of the NLCS goes today. They took a 3-2 win last night over the Dodgers. The ALCS kicks off in Boston tonight as the Red Sox take on the Tigers.

Jon Jay?s sacrifice fly in the fifth inning was enough to power the Cardinals to a 1-0 win over the Dodgers in Game 2 of the NLCS. In the ALCS, the Tigers are up 1-0 in the best of seven series after taking Game 1 in Boston 1-0.

The Boston Red Sox made a spectacular comeback to tie the ALCS at one. David Ortiz hit a grand slam in the eighth inning that tied the game at five, and Boston added one more in the ninth to beat the Tigers 6-5.

The ALCS moves to Detroit today for Game 3. John Lackey gets the start for the Boston Red Sox after their dramatic comeback that tied the series in Game 2. Justin Verlander is on the mound for Detroit. The LA Dodgers blanked the Cardinals 3-0 last night, but St.Louis still leads the series 2-1 heading into today's game.

The St.Louis Cardinals have the LA Dodgers on the brink of elimination in the NLCS, grabbing a 3-1 series lead last night thanks to a 4-2 win. The Boston Red Sox now lead the ALCS 2-1 after squeaking out a 1-0 win over the Tigers.

The American League Championship Series has turned into a best-of-three affair, after Detroit knotted the series with a 7-3 victory over Boston last night. Game 5 goes tonight in Detroit. The LA Dodgers avoided elimination in the NLCS last night, beating the Cardinals 6-4. St.Louis still leads the series 3-2.

Mike Napoli led off a three-run second with a home run to get Boston rolling to a 4-3 win over Detroit, and a 3-2 lead in the AL Championship Series.

The St. Louis Cardinals are headed to the World Series. The Cardinals downed the Dodgers 9-0 to take the best-of-seven NLCS four games to two. Game 6 of the ALCS resumes this afternoon with Boston leading Detroit, 3-2.

The Boston Red Sox have defeated the Detroit Tigers, 5-2 to win the ALCS in six games. The Red Sox face the Cardinals in Game One of the World Series which goes Wednesday night.

Game One of the World Series is tonight in Boston with the Red Sox hosting the St. Louis Cardinals. Lefty Jon Lester, who was 15-8 during the regular season, will pitch for the Red Sox, while St. Louis will start 19-9 Adam Wainwright.

It's travel day in baseball, and the St. Louis Cardinals are feeling a lot better about where they stand following their 4-2 win at Boston. The World Series resumes tomorrow night in St. Louis, tied at a game apiece.
