Re: A Music Game II for 2009

The Boomtown Rats were very unpopular in Ireland in the 70s (and later) by the established order (church, politicians et al) and Rats' contempt is clear from their lyrics. When they played at TCD gigs the judo club got the lucrative job of protecting them from right-wing elements in the university. I was Sir Bob's private bodyguard.
The judo club was also not popular. One Christmas wish was to send us to the gulag, and worse.

Magst du Toten Hosen?

I've never been a big fan, but parts of this one I know by heart:
Und alles nur, weil ich dich liebe
Und ich weiss nicht, wie ich bewisen soll
Komm, ich zeig sich, wie gross meine Liebe est
Und bringe mich fur dich um

or sth like this :-)

Campino is in a relationship with the red chica from this video - or at least they were together:

There's not much sand on that beach.

Tourists seeking Despacito ...

Something unusual is happening in La Perla, a poor barrio clinging to a steep hillside between Old San Juan and the sea where the video for the pop hit Despacito was filmed.

"The gringos are coming!"

Outsiders were afraid to venture in before, but since Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's mega hit, tourists from all over the world are descending on the narrow streets that wind among La Perla's brightly coloured houses.

"Despacito?" they inquire.

And the barrio's residents obligingly point out the locations where the video was filmed: the rocks facing the sea where Fonsi sings the refrain, the sea wall where ex-Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera strolls, the little plaza where men play dominoes — the tables and chairs just as they were in the video

"ex-Miss Universe"!  I had no idea.
Just thought she was a random gorgeous Latina ...  :D
