FWIW the news article this charter97 webpage refers to dates back from March 2022. A lot has happened in Depardieu's life since then e.g. he got arrested in Paris for driving his scooter drunk and insulting policemen last summer, and he's in German news these days telling the World he loves Russian culture and is happy with his Russian citizenship.

Italian mob suspect Edgardo Greco found working as pizza chef after 16 years on run

It would have been so funny if he fell because of the Pineapple Pizza listed on the restaurant menu

They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care; They pursued it with forks and hope; They threatened its life with a railway-share; They charmed it with smiles and soap.

The Hawaiian pizza was by most accounts created by a Greek immigrant to Canada, Sam Panopolous. You don’t get much less Indigenous than that!

And the staple diet of native Hawai'ians is Spam musubi.

Cultural appropriation or cultural appreciation? You decide.

I’m totally on board with the cultural appreciation angle. How this ended up in the Nouvelles de France thread is a separate question, I guess.

Obviously the right decision. But was it a “decision”? Or just that change, of anything, is illegal in France?

I'm not sure the French Constitution prohibits changes, but it sure is a motive for strike(s) !!!!

Binmen on strike. As George W might say, “The French don’t have a word for travail.”
