So the question is, or one of the questions: is there a religion or is there a religion/philosophy that is most consistent with the thought process of a quant? This type of animal is constantly questioning, testing, rejecting, but perhaps at other times taking issues on faith such as the continued and measured randomness of Brownian motion applied to finance. If a goal is consistency between beliefs and career, is there a religion that would fit?

Which soul loves wisdom? What is Time? What time is love?Love, wisdom, time have all been adjudged timelessWhat about the TruthIn the words of the worlds foremost philosophers Meatloaf :Life is a Lemon and I Want My Money Back:I want my money backI want my money backIt’s all or nothingAnd nothing’s all I ever getEvery time I turn it onI burn it up and burn it outIt’s always somethingThere’s always something going wrongThat’s the only guaranteeThat’s what this is all aboutIt’s a never ending attackEverything’s a lie, and that’s a factLife is a lemon and I want my money back! And all the moronsAnd all the stooges with their coinsThey’re the ones who make the rulesIt’s not a game - it’s just a routThere’s desperationThere’s desperation in the airIt leaves a stain on all your clothesAnd no detergant gets it outAnd we’re always slipping through the the cracksThen the movie’s over - fade to blackLife is a lemon and I want my money back!I want my money backI want my money backWhat about love? It’s defective! It’s always breaking in halfWhat about sex? !It’s defective! It’s never built to really lastWhat about your family? It’s defective! All the batteries are shotWhat about your friends? They’re defective! All the parts are out of stockWhat about hope? It’s defective! It’s corroded and decayedWhat about faith? It’s defective! It’s tattered and it’s frayedWhat about your gods? They’re defective! They forgot the warrantyWhat about your town? It’s defective! It’s a dead end street to meWhat about your school? It’s defective! It’s a pack of useless liesWhat about your work? It’s defective! It’s a crock and then you dieWhat about your childhood? It’s defective! It’s dead and buried in the pastWhat about your future? It’s defective! And you can shove it up your ass!!I want my money backI want my money backIt’s all or nothingAnd nothing’s all I ever getEvery time I turn it onI burn it up and burn it outIt’s a never ending attackEverything’s a lie, and that’s a factLife is a lemon and I want my money back! And we’re always slipping through the the cracksThen the movie’s over-fade to blackLife is a lemon and I want my money back!K
