I beat one of these guys in the Irish judo championship way back when I was a yellow belt and he a black belt. Rough northside inner city lad trying to rough up a TCD senior freshman, what? When we meet up at airports, for example, we exchange pleasantries (*) but we never we never talk about it. It would be crass.
These guys confer accolades on each other. They won't get a belt any other way.
A commmon theme was the obsession with power, irrespective of the scope and influence.

(*) apart from that coup in IJA.
They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care; They pursued it with forks and hope; They threatened its life with a railway-share; They charmed it with smiles and soap.

That's OK, so long it wasn't a Liberal Democrat.

Word gets around, tags. We all know what you get up to the minute you hear that song.

Have you ever met someone who cuts hard-boiled eggs across the width?

yes, like Americans who are middle-endian mm/dd/yy
Euro litle endian dd/mm/yy
Japan big endian yy/mm/dd (the best, i.e. least ambiguous) ISO 8601

Jacob Rees Mogg uses the Euro style.

Just today I did exactly that. It was carefully considered, designed to maximise stability for second and third cuts.

Across the width sounds similarly dubious as the size of a giraffe. Not to mention cutting the poor animal, as some monsters envisaged once…
Would it be a cut of low of high eccentricity? Hyperbole or en egglipse? Ovic section!
Seriously, what would be the “conic” curve formula for an egg? What would be a planetary system in which hen version of Kepler laws apply?

Is there anything more irritating than end-notes at the end of each chapter of a handbook?

Say you have colleagues today starting their messages in chartooms/online discussions with "HNY!" standing - I assume - for "Happy New Year".  Shall you come to the conclusion they don't give a sh*t?

Hehe. Similarly, given keyboard completion, nobody should ever write `xmas' !
