there's a claim the death (if it occurred) was recorded on his apple watch of course, we're yet to see/hear the recording (if it exists)

this from the british tabloids
Jamal Khashoggi: Saudi journalist ‘cut up with bone saw in Pulp Fiction murder at consulate in Istanbul'

what happened to rolling a body up in a carpet like the old days?
One source also suggested the writer's remains were discovered in the garden of the Saudi consul general's Istanbul home - located around 500 metres away from the consulate.
It contradicts the explanation being made by Saudi officials that the body was rolled up in a carpet and handed to a local collaborator who was tasked with disposing of the evidence.
the hit squad supposedly flew back to Saudi in private jets. My suggestion would have been to throw the body parts out of the jet over shark-infested waters

Twitter ‘gave Saudi Arabia information about journalist who ended up dead’

not the one in the embassy in turkey, another one
Turki Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Jasser was arrested on March 15 for allegedly running a Twitter account called Kashkool, which exposed human rights violations by Saudi authorities and royals. He then died while being tortured in detention, The New Khaleej states – prompting fresh outrage over an alleged leak of information that lead to his capture.
twitter helped the saudis find out who was behind the account

Between this and being the primary platform for Trump communication I'd be quite happy to see them closed down. They add exactly zero value to my life.

They must have been brought together by their status as Trump's most favorite world leaders.

More likely the Saudis are seeking new friends because the west is treating them like pariahs.and Putin sees the chance for hundreds of billions in arms sale

Rethinking Saudi Arabia

Good essay in today's WSJ (for subscribers) by Karen Elliott House, who has a recent book on Saudi Arabia (wasn't aware of it before).

this from the WSJ
The CIA last month concluded that Prince Mohammed had likely ordered Mr. Khashoggi’s killing, and President Trump and leaders in Congress were briefed on intelligence gathered by the spy agency. Mr. Trump afterward questioned the CIA’s conclusion about the prince, saying “maybe he did; and maybe he didn’t.”
The previously unreported excerpts reviewed by the Journal state that the CIA has “medium-to-high confidence” that Prince Mohammed “personally targeted” Khashoggi and “probably ordered his death.” It added: “To be clear, we lack direct reporting of the Crown Prince issuing a kill order.”
There is no contradiction between what the CIA said and what President Trump said, despite the WSJ using the phrase "Mr. Trump ... questioned." President Trump in fact REITERATED the CIA’s conclusion about the prince.
We've discussed words of estimative probability from the CIA before and I for one wish they'd be precise and put actual numbers on their intelligence estimates.
“probably ordered his death” means what, the CIA's estimate is that the probability is greater than 50% but less than 100%?
So “maybe he did; and maybe he didn’t”
And what does "medium-to-high confidence” that MBS “personally targeted” Khashoggi mean?
what's "medium-to-high confidence”? 70%? 90%?
And for that matter, what does “personally targeted” mean? harass him? beat him up? kill him?

Right. In Trump’s little mind, the value of killing (of all things) a US resident Washington Post writer is not nearly comparable to the personal gains he can obtain from being friendly with MbS. And Putin..

again with the "personal gains"
President Trump has not profited personally from being president, but rather it has cost him a lot of money because the bicoastal liberal elite won't stay in hotels associated with a conservative republican.
If making money were the aim, he would have stayed out of politics and still be making The Apprentice, and

Keep on telling yourself that. That there is more money in being the host of a second rate reality TV show than in running the ultimate long con. I'm sure it makes you sleep better at night.

Trump owned 50% of The Apprentice
In July 2015, CNN reported Trump racked up $213.6 million during his 13 years on the show.
That averages to $16.4M a year.
The position of President carries a salary of $400,000, which President Trump has not been drawing. The salary has been given to various government departments.
