choking the chicken
A grey-haired man has taken the law into his own hands by choking out a drunk and disorderly passenger on a Ryanair flight amid cheers from fellow passengers.
(snip)
Dean Whiteside, a labourer from Essex, caught the moment an older man lost patience with the obnoxious drunk on the flight between England and Spain, putting him in a choke hold and knocking him out cold.
(snip)
The drunken man was eventually arrested for common assault by police.

is this considered acceptable behavior in the UK? two wrongs make a right?
a passenger is drunk and obnoxious so another passenger beats him up to cheers from fellow passengers?
should not the vigilante also be arrested?

Deregulation has made air travel in Europe affordable to the lout. Made the mistake of flying Ryanair once from London to Graz, full of disgusting drunken English football fans. Beer cans flying all over the cabin. If I ever used Ryanair again I would wear a garbage bag over my clothes. No steward service of any kind during the flight, they wouldn't dare. Well past the time to raise European airfares to protect the law abiding public.

Give me Ryanair any day (without the hooligans).

In the 80s KLM and Aer Lingus had a grip of steel on Amsterdam-Dublin. A return costs [800,1600] guilders. The EU and Ryanair put an end to that carry on.

The biggest risk was people opening overheads, then bottles of Bushmills flying all over the place.
