Dress code rebellion: jeans looking like trousers

August 13th, 2012, 7:57 pm

I work in the environment where most people wear trousers but some seem to get away with jeans. I want to find something which looks closer to trousers but does not need ironing. Any advices on brands, types etc would be very appreciated.

This can be you. Good times. On a serious thought you will not want to be the guy you gets away with wearing jeans nor will you want to be the guy whose signature thing is to wear some other weird pants. A: Hey, aren't you working at the desk next to Nerdy?B: Who?A: Guy with the weird pants.B: Ah, sure, ja, what about him?

Yup... it's important not to stand out too much: May I suggest something patriotic:

Denim Chinos. I simply can't find a good pair, but there a few out there. Or jeans-design Corduroys.

Tommy Bahama makes some really great men's pants:One example:Tommy Bahama - Grayston PantsThey are a silk bamboo blend - very soft and drape nicely. Incredibly comfortable and come in good earth tones, including tan, gray, black, olive, ivory...I have quite a few pairs of these pants and like to wear them when I am travelling. I also live in jeans and khakis, but jeans can be chafy after awhile on planes and long train rides.Khakis tend to show dirt and wear too much - not good when you may not have access to laundry services every day on your international adventures.

That has never happened to me, but we know what your lifestyle is like.Nothing skankier than a Greyhound bus station quickie, which for you probably number in the dozens. Good idea to spray some Decon liberally below your belt after that. You can imagine how the hottest girls in the 'hood stand around waiting for farmer to show up here.

Send them to the cleaners.
