I was looking at hurricane photos and I saw this pic of a grocery store in TriBeCa. It is hilarious, because they have devoted a greater percentage of shelf space to noodles and spaghetti sauce than any market of a similar size in the worst ghetto I am familiar with. Four times greater, at least. But at the same time, it is the best, and most expensive, brand of mass-market noodles in the US, DeCecco. And of course it is the cheapest brand of salsa, because salsa is a premium item I guess. Salsa, milk, and noodles, is what these self-important Obama voters live off of. Don't be fooled when you see her standing in line outside some trendy spot, or by her white iphone. Never mind sexual harassment and women's lib. Look at the short shorts and the skin-tight leggings, and know that she would suck my cock for a knish. So here you have these people living in the highest-rent spot in the US, eating boiled noodles like a college student. But because they are buying DeCecco brand, and choosing exotic shapes, they are able to camouflage their own pathetic reality from themselves. It is incredible when compared to the rent paid by both the people eating the noodles, and selling them. They are like people who fly to Hawaii on vacation, take a seat at the tiki bar, and order water because it is all they can afford. When you add all the work, and subtract all the rent and student loans, the only difference between these gals and a welfare queen is the abortion. They are living beyond their pathetic means.

Here you go, honey. Just admit it's who you are and AT&T will thank you.The whole knish thing makes sense now. When I was a high-school kid, I ate knishes from Manhattan street vendors. But the streets were not filled with high-school kids, they were filled with 8-to-6ers. And the vendors were not stocked with fresh tomato sandwiches, or even stromboli like they have in other cities. People in New York city are living off the food and in the cramped quarters, and working the hours, of Eastern European immigrants 100 years ago!Even in the poorest cities in Mexico, you see laborers at dawn buying tacos in the street with actual meat in them. Not pink slime, or powdered potato mush. Now I understand why a place called "Whole Foods" would be considered premium, lol.

I have never seen a market that was that pathetic, even without factoring in how narrow the aisle is. Considering the rent there is at least 10 times the areas where I go, it is shocking.I don't doubt the girl in the red boots used her legs to beautify the decks of many a fine steamship back in the day. Girls like that can be seen on the sidewalks in some parts of my city at 7AM.

You are aware of the fact that DeCecco is a completely normal, non-fancy kind of noodles and eating them in "exotic shapes" is as exotic as switching between coke and mountain dew. You need to up your standards.

QuoteOriginally posted by: CrashedMintYou are aware of the fact that DeCecco is a completely normal, non-fancy kind of noodlesI disagree. DeCecco is a far superior noodle, even to many boutique noodles you might find. It cannot be compared with Barilla, for example, which is a terrible-tasting chalky, pasty, disintegrating noodle that you see on the shelf next to it. There used to be a popular noodle in New York San Giorgio which was pretty good. But Ronzoni and all that other crap are inedible, whereas DeCecco is decent to cook with.
