this map from the national hurricane center has "refresh" in the title so I suspect they (the national hurricane center) update it while keeping the same name, so the track you see might not be the one I posted

 Image

at the time of posting, it shows a monster hurricane (florence)  that looks like it will come ashore just north of the NC/SC border

they seem to get a huge storm once every 30 years or so.
Hugo in the 1980s was devastating
Hazel in the 1950s eventually reached Toronto as a tropical storm but still killed 81 people in Canada alone (as well as 95 in the US and somewhere between 400 and 1,000 in Haiti, and  smaller numbers in Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Bahamas).
The current track of Florence looks like it too could hit Toronto

that oft-updated track from the NHC has changed again, and now the remnants are shown tracking towards NYC, along the CT coast, and then towards boston, before regaining hurricane strength once it reaches the ocean and threatening Nova Scotia

Resilient flag shredded by Florence off NC coast ‘represents who we are as America’

Drudge has this linked with the beautiful line from Francis Scott Key that the flag was still there

That sounds like a pretty fair fight to me.
