$15M looks cheap (?).
certainly compared to the prices paid in the old days
I'd never heard of them
wiki tells me they took on $11M in series a financing in 2011, and that $15M would barely pay off the 2011 financing, with not much left over
What I've read it was an acquihire: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13822675

Shall one take what throwawayange1 and others are saying for face value? BTW, Kaggle is evolving quite fast now and it had become difficult to follow unless one becomes full-time kaggler!

I agree! It used to have a clear purpose, but now it's getting too social/commercial.

I missed a call from St Albans (NW London), today. Is this place known for anything e.g. recruitment businesses?

I'm not sure it is a stupid question (of the day).

Note from a bank:
Given that there has not been a meaningful increase in commodity hedge funds in recent years (in fact, several prominent managers have closed shop), this also suggests that new CTAs (some based on machine learning), macro funds, tourists and non-traditional players are getting involved in the oil trade.
What are tourists here, pls?

Cross-sector investors? It's a very offensive nickname, indeed.

LOL! I love the cargo-cult math. We are forced to think they are smart because they have an "E=mc^2."
