If you have to check it, you can take a single grass blade in your hand and slowly approach its other end to the cable. If you feel some sensation, there's current inside. I've learnt the trick when I was a scout ;-)

On the off-chance that it’s a snake instead, I guess you try to touch the blade of grass to the non-biting end?

They made it such a romance thriller (in proportion 9:1) that it was unbearable to watch.

The 60s were better, at least better actors like the Stalinist (according to Eric Blair the MIfunf informer)  Orson Welles.

I thought you were talking about ratios in the perfect martini!

You've really upset me with the worst clip of the worst Bond ever. A striped shirt!! That is all I can remember from that film, although I expect there were lots of explosions as well.

Yeah, the stripes stand out. I suspect the outfit looked better in the designer room, in a different light.

Krystyna Skarbek, on whom Fleming allegedly based Vespen's character. A British spy - nah, she was Polish... a Polish spy - nah, she was Jewish... - a Jewish spy - nah, he was just a cute girl. A kick-ass, who never got the tribute she deserved.

And she loved cats:
