My wife hired a running coach to help her. The coach did a video analysis and suggested a number of changes that helped. Most of them had to do with posture (being more upright instead of leaning forward) and also encouraging the lower leg to swing higher (like trying to kick your butt with your own heel).

the google doodle on monday honored First Nations marathon record-setter Tom Longboat, a Canadian first nations runner who won Boston in 1907.
There's a running club in toronto named in his honor (toronto longboat I think) who put on a race on the little island in toronto harbor where the small airport is
Not sure if there's ever been a movie of his life, but there should
I remember seeing "Running Brave" on TV once, about Billy Mills who won gold in the 10,000m in Tokyo in 1964 (good movie if you've never seen it) and hollywood could do the same for Tom Longboat

the google doodle on monday honored First Nations marathon record-setter Tom Longboat, a Canadian first nations runner who won Boston in 1907.
There's a running club in toronto named in his honor (toronto longboat I think) who put on a race on the little island in toronto harbor where the small airport is
Not sure if there's ever been a movie of his life, but there should
