As Ludvig van would put it, statistics is not the Irish's forte ;-)

" That! Using Ludwig van like that! He did no harm to anyone. Beethoven just wrote music! "

a meta question/comment on quoting.
do you happen to quote AI generated text? have you seen that somewhere?
i mean some "artists" sell (at quite high prices)  AI generated pieces of "art" that other people buy, which suggest AI-generated stuff is meaningful/significant. what about. Another thing is that some AI-generated text happen to be sensical. I'm adding that one may want to quote an AI generated statement just because of the way it sounds. So why not quoting it?
What do you think?

I think you’re right. I propose that all AI quotes be put on the blockchain. That would be the most useful application I can think of so far.

Storing and managing access to sensitive data offer all sorts in blockchain is theoretically a good idea, imho. In practice, it has many vulnerabilities (like every technology) which wouldn't need to be secured: https://www.ibm.com/topics/blockchain-security
Not sure if those vulnerabilities make it a much worse solutions than handing such data to Amazon or Google.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure blockchain in some form will dominate major public and economic sectors whrn I'm old. In countries like China or India probably much sooner.

I’ll take the over on that. Admittedly, I don’t know much about the real world, but in the world of finance (where I have hung around for a while) I have yet to hear of a genuine problem to which a blockchain based application was the solution. Unless you count Bitcoin repo, but I’d consider that a rather contrived problem.

Sure, even if one assumes that Bitcoin or blockchain were good ideas, the realisation is just as bad as the Apple iphone dictionary trained on user data - vide many of my posts... :-D And all those strange collocations go unnoticed to my eyes, even if I make effort to correct them.
