Every time I see this considerably more budget brand of champagne, I always think does its magnetic version exist
and does that mean charge is quantized or not?

Some men should spend more time with Nature Guides ... :D

And now back to markets - interesting times!
And some of the fairer sex should spend time appreciating good champagne, WH on the gramophone and the smell of a good pipe.
Yes, no question.  Nice to see you, rmax.

k - here is the champagne I had for New Year's - recommended by the store specialist.  A split was enough for two nights - about 3 glasses and I thought it was pretty nice.

Thanks. I will look around for it.

I once bought this bottle. I wanted a nice bottle to mix fertiliser for orchids. I had to drink that first (the champagne, not fertiliser):

Louis Roederer used to be my favourite.
Leads to flatulence.

going to nip that in the bud right away.

maybe for someone whose gut biome has been fed lots of Guinness. :D

But the Roederer was clean and smooth here.

Time for your tea?  Maybe Lapsang Souchong tonight. Give you a little smokey vibe...

And in combination with the bespoke baked beans, a perfect storm post 29 March. No one knows which way the wind will blow, what?

Indeed! And remember too:

“Foul words is but foul wind, and foul wind is but foul breath, and foul breath is noisome; therefore I will depart unkissed.”

Off to candlelight yoga, unkissed, but perhaps not unmissed.  :D

That is a nice bottle.

Since the topic arose today (and it was my birthday) I bought another LR Brut this evening. Why not?

Yoga class was so relaxing and now a glass of this in the hot tub.  Perfect end to the day!

PS: No, my forearm is not deformed.  Those are sinews and they serve me well.  :D

Happy birthday! And going back a couple of posts, I think you actually meant to nip Cuch in the butt. On the Champagne theme, I'm actually partial to slightly aged vintage California blanc de blancs. Typically made by offshoots of actual Champagne houses like Taittinger, Roederer and Chandon, but you also see very good wines from less well known locals like Paradise Ridge, J, Iron Horse and Schramsberg. Of course, these are highly unlikely to be found in the local Oddbins.

Haha!  Well, I'm very particular about that sort of thing and fair to say the men here are a protected (not to say endangered!) species.

Thanks for those recommendations. I have put the list into my iPhone - two specialty stores near here carry a very good selection of wines/liquors and the owners are always interested in new information/requests from their customers.

Can you recommend any good champagne, Rmax? Because the best I've had tasted and smelled like burnt apple juice. It was also misadvertised as brut. I prefer Spanish cava.
As mentioned Louis Roederer is excellent. I am a great fan of Dom Pérignon too. But there are others out there too that are nice, and not necessarily champagne. Wolfberger from Alsace is nice (for example). But it is all down to personal taste. I am happy to drink Cava but find it far too sour (and not dry) for my tastes. Prosecco is very easy to drink at is not a complex taste (like champagne). At the end of the though do what you want. if you like Cava drink Cava. If you prefer beer go for it. Everyone has different tastebuds.

I need to do some experiments, I think.   Should require a few litres to fully test.
