I would have preferred a dedicated thread for PNG, but the issue would be that there are already a number of PNG posts in the other thread, so we have some PNG posts here and some there and it gets confusing

Woman accused of sorcery axed to death in Papua New Guinea

This article is not well-written, in my opinion.
Some paragraphs individually are ambigious. And articles seem to contradict each other.
What actually happened is not clear. Or maybe I am tired

Quote

A woman saved from a mob after being accused of being a sorceress in Papua New Guinea has apparently been hacked to death by a group of men.

So, she was finally saved or hacked to death?

Quote

The woman ? known as "Misila" ? was one of four women saved by missionaries in January after a measles epidemic killed several people in a remote village in the Pacific nation's highlands.

(Also following the idea introduced in the first paragraph)
The woman was saved by missionaries as she had been struck by a mealses epidemic or was she saved after she had been attacked a first time being accused of sorcery?

Etc ...

It sounds as though she (along with others) were accused of sorcery and presumably of having caused the measles outbreak.

The women were accused of being witches by a "witch-finder" who was paid by villagers to identify the believed source of the measles outbreak.

The missionaries managed to save her from a mob intent on killing her in January, but she was subsequently killed by another (the same?) mob last Monday
