After Taking on Netanyahu, Natalie Portman Sinks Her Teeth Into a New Targe

https://www.haaretz.com/us-news/.premiu ... -1.6179498

She went on to say that Israel "was created exactly 70 years ago as a haven for refugees from the Holocaust. But the mistreatment of those suffering from today's atrocities is simply not in line with my Jewish values. Because I care about Israel, I must stand up against violence, corruption, inequality and abuse of power."
If you read the story, Natalie (besides trashing corrupted Netanyahu) is pitching restricted consumption of meat. Mishmash of unrelated messages is detrimental to conveying your point

It's Natalie Portman's point(s). A mini-collage, if you like.
Would you prefer we talk about veganism.

One needs to be a bit open-minded to see the connection.

We can't exclude a relapse

“Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.” “Until they become conscious they will never rebel, and until after they have rebelled they cannot become conscious.”

A bunch of nazis. Although, I guess they may object to that particular term for historical reasons.

Bill Russell once said (I think quoting his father), "Choose your enemies well, because you're going to become just like them."

Which Bill, William, Willy,...Russell is this? None of them seems to have inherited Sun Tzu's features.

Interesting.

In "the States," Bill Russell is pretty much an icon; maybe one tier below Muhammad Ali and Elvis. Possibly the same space as Marilyn Monroe. (Any Yanks willing to second that?)

Basketball player, as his original claim to fame.

Doesn't register across the pond?

He was a bit before my time, but it’s fair to say that he’s up there with Kareem, Magic and MJ. Legends!

Ah, balls in hoops! Only played by schoolgirls in the UK so best not to show any interest.

Russell's basketball before my time, too, mostly, but his real iconic status arose out of the fact that he was a wildly talented and successful Black American in a wildly racist country, and he never played the game of pretending that everything was OK.
