Drunk Canadian pilot arrested after fainting in cockpit
Sunwing,  Calgary to Cancun
the story seems to contradict itself, was he thrown in jail or not?
The pilot was subsequently escorted out of the plane and was placed in jail, police said.
The authorities said the pilot had more than three times the authorized amount of alcohol (0.08 percent in Canada) in his body two hours after his arrest.
(snip)
The flight took off with another pilot maneuvering the Boeing 737 plane with 99 passengers and six crewmembers, including the pilot who was charged.

Perhaps flying on Sunwing is like being in jail?

Airbus may ditch A380's grand staircase as sales tumble
The idea of a slimmed down staircase, as well as adding fuel-saving wingtips, is aimed at lowering the huge double-decker's operating costs and boosting its fuel efficiency.
The provisionally dubbed A380-Plus makeover would add 40-50 seats to increase the standard interior's capacity to more than 600 seats which would help airlines reduce their costs per passenger.
(snip)
The sweeping staircase is one of the first features passengers see on boarding an A380 and captured attention when the A380 was first rolled out as a 'cruise ship of the skies' in 2005.
However, sales have fallen in recent years due to advances in smaller twin-engined jets, which cost less to fly and maintain.
I for one prefer to fly on the smaller jets anyway, the more so because the use of smaller jets makes possible direct flights between more destinations.

Me, too. Smaller jets are faster to get on to and get off of.

That's a key element of Boeing 787 design strategy -- the engines and wings are large relative to the light-weight carbon-fiber structure. Boeing designed the plane to be compatible with about 400 more airports in the world than competing aircraft. It also enables airlines to go to a mesh network rather than a hub-and-spoke network so the flows of passengers are distributed across a bunch of smaller airports where it's easier to make connections instead of sprawling mega-hubs.

lol, I realize that cuch's disappointed by that, but I was thinking of a custodial sentence
The maximum penalty is 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
it goes back to the "honesty test" thread: would the sentence have been more severe if the groper were a man?

Indeed!

If ppauper really believed in his god, he wouldn't worry about this stuff. Apparently, the crime did not deserve a smiting and so who are we to judge?

so that's cuch and t4a voting for a stoning, and ppaiuper voting for the same custodial sentence that a male offender would have gotten
