Is this offensive?

Science magazine withdrew the following article. It doesn't seem too offensive to me, it seems like it has some reasonable points, but a lot of women feel otherwise.https://web.archive.org/web/20150601150 ... t.a1500140

I can see how the article was offensive to the extent that it appears to condone unwanted behavior.Yet removing the article was surely the wrong response because all it does is sweep the issue under the rug which is an act that effectively condones the unwanted behavior.A better solution would have offered other advice (ideally backed by empirical evidence of outcomes) for how to handle unwanted attention.That said, I fear the deeper issue is that it's going to be hard to solve the problem to the extent that some people are unpleasant to deal with and some people are sensitive in hidden ways.
