𝕳𝖊𝖗𝖗𝖊𝖓 𝖊𝖗 𝖒𝖎𝖓 𝖍𝖞𝖗𝖉𝖊

This was prominently displayed on the wall of the tiny two room cabin where I spent several family vacations as a child. It's a common biblical quote translated into Norwegian: "the Lord is my shepherd", but anybody I know would slightly misread the first letter in the last word as a "b" rather than an "h" (not being native readers of the Gothic font). In which case it turns into the much more reasonable "the Lord is my burden".

Cosmic coincidence! I have only a cursory knowledge of the Bible, so did not know that this quote is from Psalm 23, nor how it continues. That is until five minutes ago, when I reach page 212 of “The Venetian Files”, a recent novel about the financial crisis and the history of banking coauthored by a friend of mine, and there it is! Admittedly in the translation “..., and I lack nothing”, but I got the point. Almost spooky.

That is very interesting.

Lately I have been wondering if time really is circular and we will essentially keep living the same experiences over and over again, but with subtle or perhaps not-so-subtle variations.

This can lead to at least two behaviors (and I'm sure you can think up some more!).

1) Try to behave reasonably well, because whatever you are doing now is going to keep coming back through.

2) Figure out how to leave memory triggers for yourself to take a certain path (or perhaps to run away!)

Of course, this sounds like crackpot stuff, but I don't care.  It's intriguing and we don't really know, do we?

Maybe I will have Himalayan cats *and* Maine Coons all together in one house next time. It will be one big cosmic dust ball! : )

The movie Solaris is very good. Both versions - (Tarkovsky 1972 and Soderbergh 2002).

It went up in the post-Viking era?

The cabin went up in the 1930's, but I'd guess at the 40's for the shelf/decoration. But, yes, definitely post-Viking.
