The Return of Lost Wilmotters

August 27th, 2015, 4:06 pm

Back in the mists of space-time, long before I arrived here, there was a culture of quants who shared a keen understanding of math, finance, and physics. On quiet afternoons they would gather to discuss the beauty of women and qualities of fine art in an ever-so-gentlemanly (cough cough) manner. Some posted prolifically and their style would catch your attention even now, years after their logins have faded to black.Today, we salute samudra, who was one such poster. He has appeared in the Economics Forum with multiple posts on bull markets and the prospects for India (A dream becoming a reality redux?)Did he ever find the perfect woman? Is there still hope for the quant culture of the Pleistocene era?Who can still derive stochastic differential equations with a pencil and paper? Inquiring minds want to know.
