Re: Cuchulainn's Long Hall (aka The Infinite Corridor)

January 6th, 2017, 2:28 pm

A short story for Cuchulainn:

Last night I had dinner in the "Irish Pub" here - well of the American variety, but anyway the bartender was a strapping young Irish lad and we got to talking about Rugby.

It turned out that he used to play - as a wing and when I mentioned Brian O'Driscoll, the bartender said he knew him - they met several times. Small rugby world!

We talked a little about the All Blacks and also the effort to bring rugby to America (and American football to Europe).

A very pleasant international sports evening.

Not live and not particularly Irish.

Noticing that Cuchulainn is changing his signature on a regular basis these days.

Right now, it is about Ricardo Montalban and tortillas.

Are these alternative facts?

I am thinking of adding a new signature too.

What do you think of this one?

Do we really want to know why?

Haha - I am not doing much with CL these days.
Much more interested in perfect information and also metagames.
Completely different direction now...

Iceland's a nice land!

The dried cod is not as good a fresh smoked eel, but it makes a good snack.

If you have time, the main ring road is a very nice drive -- lots of foss and glaciers to visit.

Barcelona!

I highly recommend Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and the Picasso Museum. And if you like Dali, a day in his museum/house in Figueres is well worth it.

We plan to drive from Reykavik all the way up to Akureyei and myVatn and spend 4 days there. Then travel by a comma-odious vicus of recirculation back to Thingfellir and environs.
