Enjoyed her in the Avengers, but didn't realize she also played the great Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones.

Also, RIP to Toots Hibbert of Toots in the Maytals fame -- have enjoyed them live many times from 1975 - 2019, the last date (for me) being the Sept 2019 Kaaboo fest in Del Mar, Ca.

RIP, Toots. That's some innings.

Before Emma Peel, Honor Blackman (late to become Pussy Galore in 007) played the role of Cathy Gale. She could really do judo because she trained at the legendary Budokwai club in London. In the Bond film it was a judoka from the Budokwai who did all the Sean Connery throws.
She also passed not so long ago.

Judo and martial arts were very popular at TCD in the early 70s. One of the students was a HB double, English, black belt she used to arrive at the club in a jaguar (her father was the eponymous owner of cigarette factories.) Now it's just another sport..

I've often wondered how many takes it took to film "My name is Pussy Galore ..." without everybody cracking up. After N takes, where I will guess N is large, there's still a residual smirk on both actors.

That's Scots Gaelic, in Irish "Go Leor"

It's called McDojos - students get the black belt in a year and parade in it in the streets. At least that's what I see here in London.

RIP RBG.

My guess on how the battle for her seat will play out.
There will be a nomination to replace her in a couple of weeks.
Operation double Warp Speed.

The confirmation hearing will be started, but not concluded before the election. Then, there will be the election, which will be ambiguous and contested of course, with various challenges making it quickly to the Supreme Court. It will be amusing to see the Senate Judiciary committee, esp. K. Harris, trying to get the nominee to pre-commit on the challenges. It won't happen. By the end of Nov, RBG's successor will be confirmed by the Senate. Before the electoral college meets, a full court will meet and resolve the challenges. Then, the electoral college will elect the next president. Life goes on.
