Well, for one, we almost never speak in all caps. That went out of fashion with COBOL. Beyond that, “it depends”. It depends on your education, prior experience (if any), physical location, visa status (in some cases), and what kind of quant job you are looking for - they run the gamut from large bank model risk management to high frequency trading algo development, etc.
40 or so years ago, when quant jobs starting to become a thing, they were mostly limited to modeling derivatives, convertibles and mortgage backed securities. But these days they’re arguably not even limited to the financial sector, and I’m not even thinking about the crypto silliness. So, if you give us a little more background, we might be able to start answering your question.
